#1 유기된 아기를 데리고 병원으로 들어온 멜과 잭

 

Mel; You can put him on the table. 

Jack; Ok. Here we go.

Mel; Can you take his wrap off?

Jack; Hey, hello. Unbutton the sweater?

 

Jack; Who the hell would leave a baby on a porch? 

Mel; Someone who's desperate. 

Jack; Is he gonna be ok? 

Mel; Yeah. He's warm. He's hydrated, and.. he looks good. But uh 'he' is actually a 'she'. 

 

#2 멜이 아기를 안아 들자, 포대에서 종이 쪽지가 떨어짐

Jack; What's that? "I'm sorry, but she'll be better off with someone else. Plz take care of her and make sure she knows that i'm doing this because i love her.". 

Mel; Do you have doc's cell number? 

Jack; He's on a house call in Myers flat. There's no reception. 

Mel; Well, I need to get a hold of his contact at Child Protective Services. 

Jack; Maybe in his office?

Mel; Yeah, right. 

Jack; Here, you want me to have a swing? (Yeah) ooh, there you go. 

Mel; Thanks. uh, we are gonna need dipers and formula. 

Jack; Ok, on it. We'll text connie and get you some dipers and formula, huh? What you want? Ooh, gotta do sth to take your mind off your tummy, huh? What shall we do? You want a little song, huh? (노래불러줌)

Mel; Creedence?

Jack; Well, I figured it was better than AC/DC. 

Mel; Oh really? 'Cause "Ride on" always put me right to sleep. 

Jack; Who are you?

Mel; I'm a nurse that know her metal. 

Jack; clearly.

 

#3 의사 등장, 기관에 연락 안하겠다고

doc; Where did that baby come from?

Mel; She was abandoned on your front porch. She's about three weeks. Her vitals are good, but she's a little underweight. We need to call Social Services. 

Doc; Well, they're in Eureka, they don't open for another hour. 

Mel; Well, there's always an after-hours number. 

Doc; Since this is my office and this baby is my patient,  I will decided which course of action we're gonna follow. No agency calls. And if you don't agree, you know where the door is. Now, plz watch the baby. 

Mel; Yes, of course. 

Jack; At least he didn't threathen to shoot you. 

Mel; Oh, the day is young. 

 

#4 홉 잠시 등장

Hope; Oh, cute baby. 

Doc; No, no, i don't want to alert the authorities. That's why i called you. Look, i do have some ideas. 

 

#5 코니 첫 등장

Connie; Here's all the formula and diapers i had. 

Mel; Oh, wow, thank you. 

C; Oh, bless her heart.  She's hungry? 

Mel; We're gonna need some hot water. 

C; Oh, boy, they said you were a looker, and they weren't lying. 

Jack; I only said you were mildy attractive. Mel, this is Connie.

Mel; I'm uh the new nurse practitioner--

C; Oh, honey, everyone knows who you are. 

Jack; Connie owns the general store. 

C; And i make it my business to know everything about everybody. 

Jack; Yeah, whether they like it or not. 

C; You know, she looks a little like Mimi Simpston around the eyes. 

Jack; Mimi's 72. 

C; Mimi has a granddaughter. How long ago was prom? Never mind. I'll give Mimi a shout, and then i'll activate the virgin river phone tree. Don't you worry. We'll find your mother. (코니 나감) / 5분
