Mel; What's the phone tree?

Jack; Whenever there's a town emergency, it's connie's job to let everyone know. 

Mel; Oh, there you go x2. (애기가 젖병을 계속 거부하고 울어) No? ok, this is not good. 

 

#7 닥 오피스에서 홉이랑

doc; Brady, i gotta go. Someone's here in my office. Listen, just keep an eye open and call me if anyone fits that bill.

hope; It's rude to keep a lady waiting.

doc; It's rude coming in someone's office without knocking. 

hope; You're door was open. Ok, we've got big trouble. 

doc; Yeah, an abandoned baby.

hope; No, i was talking about mel. Wait, someone abandoned the baby? (Yeah)Well, what are you doing about it? 

doc; Well, I was talking to Brad over at Grace valley hospital. 

hope; Did you check the camps? 

doc; Next on my list. You know, by the way, Miss florence nightingale out there, she was about to call social services.

hope; Well, uh, eventually, someone might have to. It's an abandoned baby. 

doc; Now, you're gonna tell me what to do? 

hope; I always tell you what to do. Ok, baby aside, you promised to give mel a 30-days trial. 

doc; 29 days to go. It's like a kid countin' down to christmas. 

hope; You're an ass, is what you are. 

doc; No time for sweet talk. 

hope; She gave me her notice. 

doc; Well then save your fury for Miss monroe. I mean, she's the one who's lookin' to cut and run. 

 

#8 닥이 나와 멜에게 충고

doc; Put a little honey on that. She'll latch right on. 

mel; There's a risk of botulism. 

doc; oh, good heavens.

mel; It's a real risk. 

doc; So is starvation. I take it i can leave her with you?

mel; I'm a certified nurse and midwife. 

doc; Is that a yes?

mel; Yes. (애기가 드디어 젖병 물었음) Well, she's eating. She could stop again. You know, we really need to find her mother or consider bringing in a specilist. 

doc; You are a midwife. 

mel; Feeding issues are a subspecialty. 

doc; Oh, christ on a cracker. Not in the real world, they aren't. 

 

#9 닥이 뭐 가지러 간 사이, 홉, 잭, 멜

hope; Is connie activating the phone-tree? 

jack; Yeah, with her usual gusto. 

hope; so, that covers all over virgin river. 

 

jack; Hey, i gotta call you back. No, no, i'm jsut in the middle of sth. Ok, i'll call you later. 

 

mel; It's possible somebody dropped her off while they were passing through. 

hope; Doc's gonna look into that. You know, it's a good thing you're still in town. Doc's not good with small humans. Hell, sometimes he's not so good with big humans either. 

doc; I heard that. 

hope; I'm not finished with you, old man. 

 

#10 짐들고 나서는 닥을 따라 나간 홉

hope; Mel gave notice because you won't let her do what she came here to do. 

doc; Well, take over my practice? You know, she wanted to give the baby away.

hope; That's not true, Well, look, You've relegated her to coffee and filing, and that's not doing anyone any good. 

doc; Well, everyone's got to start everywhere.  

hope; she's a nurse, not a secretary. 

doc; If she came crying to you, what she is, is city-soft, It's a good thing we found out early. 

hope; In her old job, she used to deal with dope fiends and criminals, but it's you she can't work with. Think about that.

doc; I'm thinking. /8분

 

#11 병원 안, 잭과 홉, 멜이 버진리버에 남을 수 있도록 합심하려는 두 사람

hope; Did she tell you?

jack; You think she's serious about leaving? 

hope; She told me to start looking for her replacement. And i really can't blame her. 

jack; You know what, if doc could just get out of his own way, he would see she's exactly what this town needs. You know... I'm headin' over to the cabin. You know, i could speed things up with the remodel. Maybe if she had a place to call home... (되게 뜸들이면서 반응 살피면서 말하는 느낌ㅋㅋㅋ)

hope; That will be a, a lot of extra work for you. 

jack; But we want her to stay, right? (yes, we do). Maybe if you took your time looking for her replacement..

hope; I haven't even started, and frankly, it wasn't easy to get Mel here, so..

jack; Maybe between the two of us, we could.. turn her around?

hope; Yes, let's see if we can make virgin river a little more attractive to her. / 5~10분
