#15 멜이 머무를 캐빈을 수리 중인 잭과 리키

R; You werent' kidding when you said this was gonna be a lotta work. 

J; On the upside, at $20 an hour, you could end up saving enough to pay for your first semester of college. 

R; No need. Soon as i graduate, I'm enlisting. 

R; Ricky, things.. uh.. it's not the same as when i singed up. You know, these days, you're gonna need a college degree for almost any kind of job you're gonna want. 

R; The job i want is to be a marine. 

J; What does your grandmother say about all this, huh? 

R; Well, i was kind of hoping you could help me tell her. 

J; Ok, i wil. but hey, only if you apply to a couple of schools, as backup. 

R; Ok, yeah. 

 

(일하러 돌아간 리키가 실수로 유리를 떨어뜨려 깨자, flashback이 온 잭. 그런 잭을 보고 리키가 말을 걸었음)

 

R; Jack, you ok?

J; Yeah, i, just had too much coffee. Here. Why don't you clean that up? Got work to do. 

 

(리키 일 시키고, 뒤돌아서 몰래 술을 마시는 잭)

 

#16 병원, 릴리의 등장. 멜과의 대화.

Lilly; Hi, Connie and hope both called me. I'm lilly. 

Mel; Mel. Is this from the whold town? (이제 간호사라고 소개 안함ㅋㅋㅋ)

L; No, just me. Oh, i have four grown children. None of them are planning on making me a grandmother any time soon, so.. I thought you could put this all to good use. (Yes). How is she? 

L; Oh, well, she's not eating enough, and i'm getting a little concenred. 

L; oh. you gonna wake her up? 

M; Oh, no, not if i do this right. (자는 아이 입에 젖병 꼭지를 슬슬 문지름..) 

L; I've never seen that before.

M; It's called dream feeding. You do it when they're mostly asleep, and if you're lucky their sucking reflex kicks in. But it doesn't always work. 

 

#17 코니 등장

C; I have a bone to pick with you. I'm all the way through the phone tree when Stacie shows up to tell me that Joy heard Hope taking to Doc. She thought she heard Doc say that you wanted to give that beautiful baby away. 

M; Oh, no, there's been a misunderstanding. 

C; I should hope so. 

M; No one is giving anyone away. But at some point, doc or myself will have to call Child protective services. (Says who?) The state of california. (Oh, plz..) Look, social services is set up to handle this kind of situation better than we are. 

C; It's no a situation. It's a baby. 

M; Well, doc told me not to call. 

C; Thank goodness for small favors. 

M; You know, social services isn't the enem here. Ultimately they want the baby to be with her mother. 

C; You know what i think? I thik this is her home, and you should mind your own business. 

M; ok, well, this is my business, and the town can't just keep her. (Why not?) Because she's not a puppy. 

C; I'm sure lilly, along with everybody else i've spoken to, agrees with me. 

L; I think she's just trying to help the baby and do what's right, so may --

C; Look, we don't need outsiders tellin' us how to live. In virgin river, we take care of our own. You big city types, you're all the same. Always thinking you know what's best. Well, I'm here to tell you, you don't. Let's go lilly.

(릴리가 무안한 듯 멜을 쳐다보자)

M; It's ok. 

(릴리 퇴장)
